#mondaymood: 'Where focus goes, energy flows'

- Tony Robbins

Starting this week on such a powerful and motivational note - with one of the most important piece of advice of Tony Robbins. Having a 'mantra' in your mind to walk around with you and improve your everyday life can have such a big impact in our lifestyle, mindset and well-being.

'Where focus goes, energy flows is not just a concept that helps in appreciating life – it’s a powerful tool in achieving your goals. When you have a clear vision of your goal and devote your energy and focus to it.

The next time you’re in a new situation or environment, practice the “where focus goes, energy flows” way of thinking. If you’re outdoors, notice the cool breeze or the smell of nearby flowers. If you’re inside, try to spot interesting décor or architectural styles. If you meet new people in this situation, ask thoughtful questions and listen deeply to the answers. Focus on at least one personality trait you admire in each person you talk to. '

'Understanding that energy flows where attention goes is the first step toward the mindful achievement of goals. With this powerful concept in mind, you can train yourself to focus on the positive and enhance your mindfulness with the daily tools listed above. Once you start attracting more of what you want in life, you’ll understand the power of focusing your mind and becoming obsessive about the goals that matter to you most.'

There can be multiple ways to define a focal point. In photography or painting, it is literally the point at which the “eye” or lens capturing the image is focused. In interior design, a focal point is similar: It is an area that draws our attention due to being more dramatic than other areas.

It can be one bold piece (such as a large-scale artwork) or a grouping of items (such as this painting placed just above the dark fireplace). Whatever it is, and for whatever reason (be it colour, pattern or size), a focal point draws the eye more strongly than other areas of the room.

Creating a focus point in a s room is an essential step in interior design. Not only will bind together your whole room but can help you achieve the look that you want to create without crowding the room. Of course, different things can act as a one. Essentially, the focal point is the star of the room, the striking statement piece that makes everyone land their eyes on it the moment they enter. It’s also a good starting point for the rest of your design. If you want to make sure that your room is well-decorated and perfectly balanced, you should start by choosing the best spot for your focal point and in my opinion, this decision should be highly influenced by the natural light of the room. See where the light hits the best and where it's more suitable for you - chose your focus point in a place where you will always be able to truly enjoy it.

As always, my whole approach behind an interior design, is to create the supportive environment that it's the most suited for us for the lifestyle and our personal development.

Combining this two ideas together, I see a focus point in interior design as a tool to achieve the ambience that makes us feel the best in our home and bring in that 'energy' where we can find ourselves.

Depending on how you really are, what your style is and what 'image' will motivate you to become a better version of yourself, there are a few ways to use that as a focus point in your own home which will not only unify your home aesthetic but will always be that 'small reminder' that will help you remember who you truly are. See it as a "piece - of - art - aesthetically - pleasant - vision -board - home - asset ".

This is one of the easiest yet very effective ways to create a focal point in any room. Simply pick a wall that you want to be the statement piece of the entire space and get creative with it. The simplest way is to repaint it and using some bold courageous colours that will help you achieve a specific mood. Every colour, has a different influence on our brains so get a few informations on it before choosing the right colour. The easiest way to make the greater impact from your walls is choosing the right wallpaper. It's easy to install and will change the whole aesthetic of the room. There are also so many options to chose from so no matter what your style is, there will be a sure a choice that you will love. For me, La Maison it's the best option not only for the biggest range of wallpapers but so many more features and unique pieces that will inspire you and give your home the perfect look.

Textures, in general, are very important when it comes to creating a warm and cozy feeling. If windows are your focal point get some interesting curtains that will always be a refreshing focus point in your life that will become alive every time a breeze of air comes into your home.

Also, rugs are a great asset that can give your room that personality that will make your home design come together. Having so many choices of not only colours but different textures, not only will brighten up your room and lift up your mood but will also give you a cozy sensory feeling every time you enter the room. Choosing the right one for you it can make a difference in your design and this choice better will come with some advice. For me, I have found BioKarpet to be the best go- to place in Bucharest that provides almost any tapestry, curtains and carpets you can think of.

Another great way to add to any room is to use statement artwork. This can be a large painting or even a mirror with an intricate frame. Depending on the size of the room and the aesthetic that you want to achieve, this 'piece of interest' can be transformed into a gallery of images that are inspiring for you, or you can make it more personal and hang some photography of some key moments from your life.

In my opinion, nature will always be the greatest inspiration. Having plants in our homes have so many benefits. Using them as a focus point, not only will bright up any room but it will also be a changing scenery that will always be alive. Of course, this also comes with so many benefits as some plants have the proprieties of improving air quality and providing us other health goodness mentioned all here.

Especially for small spaces, using the furniture to create a piece of art it's a great way of creating a focus point that holds a story beyond its aesthetic.

Find what works for you and your home and always choose what makes you feel the best every time you look at it. It is your own space so every small detail should be perfect and give you that good vibe.
